Ten Flags was born to be big. And we are part of it.

When you read what Ten Flags is all about, on their website, they promise you an escape to “another world”, “a place of imagination and fun”, that can whisk you away from the daily routine. It almost sounds like a portal to everlasting fun, carefree running around and having all the candy you want, right? Kind of like the Pleasure Island in Pinocchio. Except for the fact that this is a real place and we can vouch that it does not make little kid’s ears grow.

Ten Flags is one project that completely amazed us. Not only for the extreme challenges encountered on the journey to creating it, but for the “think big” kind of view that its owners started with and are still keeping.

Ten Flags was never to be a small project. Never modest. Never “just” a fun place to be. Located in Rustenburg, South Africa, it offers the largest variation of indoor and outdoor activities that you can think of: from paint ball, to ice karting, to axe throwing, to luxury car rides. Here is a complete list of the activities:

  • Paint ball
  • Ten pin bowling
  • Ice skating
  • Ice karting
  • Arcade games
  • Laser tag
  • Lamborghini and Ferrari rides
  • Helicopter rides
  • Bumper cars
  • Soccer areas
  • Golf areas
  • Foam and snow bath
  • Zipline
  • Roller skating
  • Off-road and on road karting
  • Quad bikes
  • Pellet shooting
  • Maze activity’s
  • Axe throwing
  • Archery

It would take most people at least two days to go through all these activities. Schools are organizing leisure trips at ten Flags and families are coming on week days, as well, to boost their mood.

Ice Business was responsible for the ice rink. And projecting and building a rink in hot bright Africa is no easy job. On the contrary. Providing the electric was in itself a challenge. We almost had setback due to the soil and the hot temperatures, which translated into chiller-related issues. But this is what happens when you take on a big challenge. Fortunately, the issues encountered were fixed by our team and the ice rink was completed on time.

Now, an 1800 square meter ice skating rink is waiting for skaters and kart drift passionate kids and adults all year long. It is open since August, 2019.
